Privacy policy.
What Farzi collects, how long it is kept, who can see it, and how to have it removed.
Who we are
Farzi builds AI software for construction operations. This policy covers farzi.co.in, the Farzi prototype at app.farzi.co.in, the Farzi phone app at farzi-mobile.vercel.app and its iPhone version, and the Farzi WhatsApp number, +91 89994 44444.
What we collect
When you book a walkthrough, we receive the name, work email and role you enter, and the company and message if you add them. It reaches our inbox by email so we can reply.
When you apply for a role on our careers page, the application form is Tally’s, loaded from tally.so. What you enter and the CV you upload go to Tally, which keeps them for us, and are not sent to farzi.co.in. We use them only to consider your application.
When you send a file to the Farzi WhatsApp number, we receive the file, any caption with it, your WhatsApp profile name, and your phone number. We keep only a masked form of the number (the last four digits) and a one-way hash of it, never the full number. Files larger than 4 MB are noted but not kept. Photos, videos, voice notes and other audio, documents and stickers all count as files and are kept in this way. If you send a text message instead, we keep its text. For most other kinds of message, such as a location, a contact card, a button reply or an order, we keep only a one-line note of what kind it was, not what it contained. Each of these is kept with the same sender details for 72 hours. Reactions, WhatsApp’s own notices, and messages WhatsApp passes on without their content are not kept at all.
The Farzi phone app sends the site photos you file straight to the Farzi prototype. It does not use WhatsApp. When you take a site photo in the app and file it, we receive the photo and the details stamped on it: the date and time it was taken, where it was taken and how accurate that location is, whether that place is inside the project’s site boundary, the project, tower and floor you chose, the name and role you are using in the app, any record you link it to, and a short verification code. If you take it for one of the requests Farzi lists in the app, we also receive which request it answers: the request’s reference and its short title. We also receive any note you add. Anything in the note that looks like a phone number is removed before we store it.
With the photo we receive a copy of the original whenever one fits in the upload. If the original is a JPEG of 2 MB or less, the copy is the file itself, exactly as your phone gave it to the app, with any details recorded inside it, such as the time, the camera model and the location. Otherwise it is a JPEG copy the app makes, without those details. The original stays on your phone, unchanged.
The app needs your location to take or file a site photo. It asks for it when you open its site photo screen and reads it only while that screen is open, except that in the iPhone app a reading already under way when you close the screen can take up to 20 seconds to finish, and is then not used. It never reads your location in the background. A photo you take with the camera is stamped with your phone’s location and its clock. A photo you choose from your library is accepted only if it records its own time and location, and is stamped with those, never with where your phone is now. If you do not allow location, the app takes no site photos.
The prototype and the phone app run on a simulated project. Apart from the files you send to the WhatsApp number and the site photos you file from the phone app, nothing you do in them is stored on our servers.
How we use it
Walkthrough requests are used to arrange the walkthrough and to reply to you. WhatsApp files are shown in the Farzi prototype so that they can be filed into a project, and we may reply on WhatsApp to confirm a file arrived.
Site photos filed from the phone app are shown in the Farzi prototype with their stamp, so that they can be filed into a project, and a photo taken for one of Farzi’s requests shows that request there as received. No confirmation or other message is sent about them, on WhatsApp or anywhere else.
We do not sell personal data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use your files, photos or locations to train AI models.
How long we keep it
Files sent to the WhatsApp number, with their captions and sender details, are deleted automatically after 72 hours. Site photos filed from the phone app, with the copy of the original and the stamped details, are kept on our servers until newer site photos need the space, and then the oldest are deleted first. However much space is free, none is kept longer than two years after it was filed, or until its project is complete if that is later. The app sends the project’s completion date with each photo for this.
In the prototype, a site photo filed into a project keeps its stamp and a link to the photo, which stops working once the photo is deleted from our servers, or up to a day later if your browser kept a copy of it. That record is kept only in the browser that filed it, not on our servers, and is cleared when the demo is reset, or when the prototype is next opened more than an hour after anything in it last changed.
On your phone, a site photo you have filed stays for two years after it was filed, or until its project is complete if that is later, and is removed the next time you open the app after that. For the project in the app, completion is its target handover date, 30 November 2027. A photo that has not been sent yet stays until it is sent or you delete it, unless your browser clears the app’s storage.
You can delete any site photo from your phone at any time. Deleting it from your phone does not remove a copy already filed to the prototype, which stays on our servers as described above.
Walkthrough requests are kept in our email for as long as we are in conversation with you, and deleted on request.
Who can see it
Only the Farzi team and the people we give access to the prototype, which is behind a passphrase. Inside the prototype, a forwarded file is visible only to the roles allowed to see that kind of record.
Site photos filed from the phone app are seen the same way: in the prototype, by the people we give access to it, and only in the roles a forwarded file is shown to. Anyone with the prototype’s passphrase can switch between its roles. The phone app is behind a passphrase too, and shows only the site photos taken on that phone.
We use these services to run Farzi, and each processes data only to provide its service: Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform) delivers WhatsApp messages; Vercel hosts the site, the prototype and the phone app; Upstash stores WhatsApp files for their 72 hours, and site photos from the phone app for as long as we keep them; Resend delivers walkthrough requests by email; Tally collects and stores job applications.
Google Fonts serves the typefaces for the prototype and the phone app. Your browser fetches them from Google, which receives your IP address. If you use the iPhone app through TestFlight, Apple shares with us the crash reports and feedback you choose to send.
Cookies and storage on your device
After you enter the passphrase, a cookie keeps you signed in: for 12 hours in the prototype, and for 90 days in the phone app, so it opens straight to the app in the middle of a meeting. On farzi.co.in, the preview passphrase sets a cookie that lasts 30 days. Each cookie records only that the passphrase was entered, not who you are.
The phone app keeps your settings and the site photos you have taken in your phone’s own storage. The prototype keeps the state of the demo, including its conversation and the records you file, in your browser’s own storage, and discards it when the prototype is next opened more than an hour after it last changed; it also keeps a few preferences there, such as the theme and your recent searches, and the time you last reset the demo or opened it afresh, so that Farzi’s requests count only the site photos that arrived after it. When the prototype shows a site photo from the phone app, or you open its original there, your browser may keep a copy in its own cache and use it for up to a day without fetching it from our servers again. On farzi.co.in, your browser remembers only whether you chose the light or dark theme. We use no analytics and no advertising cookies.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or withdraw your consent at any time, by writing to hello@farzi.co.in. Messages you send on WhatsApp are also subject to WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy.
You can turn off location for Farzi at any time in your phone’s settings. The phone app then takes no site photos, and shows you how to turn location back on. Nothing else in the app uses your location.
Changes
If what we collect or how we use it changes, this page changes with it, and the date below moves.
